Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world. It boasts many outstanding players, nearly constant action, and some of the greatest moments in all sports. Unfortunately, this high praise cannot be turned into mobile games. There aren’t many great basketball games on mobile. However, we found a few good things that we’d like to share. Here are the best basketball games for Android!
Price: Free to play
Basketball Battle is one of the best arcade style basketball games. It is a PvP game that has two players on one court. The goal is to outwit the opponent before time runs out. The controls are very simple and the graphics will not impress everyone. However, the game has a decent rhythm and a fun premise. It also supports split-screen multiplayer, although we only recommend it on larger phones or tablets. It’s a free game and that’s not great. However, for a while it kills the arcade game, it’s fun for a while.
Bouncy Basketball is another basketball game. It’s kind of like a low-rent NBA Jam. The games are customizable. You can play up to four periods with a maximum of 90 seconds each. This means that a game cannot last more than six minutes. This holds up well for the lane type. Some of the game’s other features include simple controls, replays, various unlockable characters, character customization, and more. This is something you play on the line, but it’s not half bad for what it is. The game is also completely free, but it contains ads.
Dude Perfect 2
Price: Free to play
Dude Perfect is world-famous for its sporty ultra-high definition videos. The game does not differ much. You shoot various objects through, over, or around obstacles to get the perfect shot. It’s not a difficult game, but a little fun when you have some time to kill. Some of the game’s other features include unlockable challenges, characters, and more. It’s not a basketball game in the classic sense, but you shoot basketball into baskets with this game, so it’s important.
Ketchapp basketball games
Price: Free / Varies
Ketchapp has several arcade style basketball games. None of them is particularly amazing, but the collection as a whole is fairly good. Some of the games include Dunk Shot, Dunk Line, and Ketchapp Basketball. They are all very simple games and do not take long to play. Their graphics are simple, even when compared to most of the games on this list. The mechanisms are also simpler than average. This is fine for wasting a few minutes while waiting for things, but the lack of complexity gets boring after a while. In addition to that, the free versions of these games contain a lot of ads. Otherwise, they are okay.
ESPN Fantasy Sports
ESPN Fantasy Sports is one of the largest fantasy basketball platforms on the Internet. You can play with friends, join random leagues with strangers, and do all the fancy basketball things like trade players or find a free agency. The app allows you to edit your squad, add / drop players, customize your team, and communicate with other managers in your league. This is all you need for an app like this. There are some bugs, and we recommend that you check your team on a computer every now and then to make sure the app is doing its job. Otherwise, this one is solid.
NBA 2K Mobile Basketball
Price: $7.99 with in-app purchases
This is the big 2K Basketball edition of the year. It features the actual basketball game with surprisingly good graphics. The controls are a little humble, but still better than most. Some of the game’s features include a story mode with some of the biggest names and franchises in basketball. Additionally, there is a career mode for dedicated players, a fresh soundtrack, and more. The game faced some serious bugs upon its initial release. However, most of these have been settled. The game is easily among the best basketball games on Android at the moment.
NBA Jam is probably our favorite mobile basketball game. It is a port of the old classic lanes of the same name. You play two-on-two basketball using a lighter set of rules. You can push, steal and dunk your way to victory. The game also includes hardware console support, Android TV support, local and online multiplayer support, campaign mode, and more. We hope all mobile basketball games are good. It’s basically a flawless port of the 90’s arcade game. We also hope EA keeps updating this update so that it no longer becomes irrelevant.
NBA Live Mobile
Price: Free to play
NBA Live Mobile is the official NBA mobile game. This means it is free EA cash grab. However, there are still some compensatory qualities in the game. It includes excellent graphics, good controls, and every NBA team and player. You also get online multiplayer, various game modes, live events, and more. Game updates tend to spoil things a little. Plus, it’s an EA sports game however, and it’s fun for at least a little while before freemium content makes its way.
Street Basketball Association
Price: Free to play
Street Basketball Association is another street-style basketball game. It’s also a free game, for better or worse. The game includes different game modes, including online and local multiplayer mode, quick play mode, league games, special events, and training mode. The mechanisms are simple. Half-court ball is played with fairly simple rules. It also includes different difficulty levels. This way you can challenge yourself or just smash some easy AI on those days when you want to relax. It’s a little slower than we’d like a basketball game to be, but not much.
Yahoo Fantasy Sports
Yahoo is ESPN’s biggest competitor in the field of fantasy sports. Their app is highly qualified and supports all major (American) sports. You can draft your lineup, change your squads, trade, choose free agents and set your list using the app. It also includes an integrated chat to talk about trash and communicate with other managers. User interface decent. It won’t win any trophies but it gets the job done. This app and ESPN Fantasy Sports app are the best free fantasy basketball options. Those who don’t mind spending some cash can also try Draft Kings and FanDuel. However, we recommend free trials because they are generally better in all respects. We also recommend that you check your lists on the computer again as the app can be inconsistent at times.
