Minesweeper was one of the first PC games. It dates back to the 1960s and people still play it today. It is a logical game where you must uncover all mines without choosing one. You can use the numbers on the board to determine how many mines are in the vicinity. There are a lot of variants but most of them seem to enjoy the classic 2D pattern with different board sizes with different difficulties. Unfortunately, the surprisingly popular Minesweeper Q on iOS is not available on Android otherwise it would likely be on the list. Anyway, you have a lot of options for a game of mine on Android. Here are the best Minesweeper games available right now.

Guess-Free Mines is a good idea minesweeper game. It’s also great for beginners. Most Minesweeper games require at least a little bit of guesswork, which isn’t really the case. Plus, it comes with four board sizes, the ability to define your own board size, and various tutorials for things like strategies and controls. It also saves your clicks in a 3BV file and you can replay up to 20 previous games in any given mode. Finally, the game has various customization options, including themes and more. It is a solid showcase in this space despite its little popularity. It is also one of the best free Minesweeper games.
Minesweeper by Evgeny Karavashkin

This version of Minesweeper is, as far as we know, the most popular on the Android platform at the time of writing. It contains most of the things one would want to obtain the title of Minesweeper. It has three difficulty levels and a custom mode in case you want something harder. Additionally, it contains convenient controls, a social playback feature, a replay feature, an auto-save mode, and a variety of tutorials for beginners. Your mind won’t be stunned, but you will scratch that itch when playing minesweeper.
Minesweeper for Android
Price: Free
Minesweeper for Android is one of the most popular Minesweeper games. The game features a global leaderboard, four difficulty levels, a dedicated mode, tablet support, and more. You can zoom in on specific places to avoid mistakes and everything looks just as you’d expect. Plus, there are tools for people to speed up gameplay if you like. This is an old offering but still relevant in this field today. Minesweeper Classic (Google Play link) is another decent option, but we prefer this one because it has fewer ads.
Minesweeper – Antimine
Price: Free / $0.99
Minesweeper – Antimine is a minimal version of minesweeper with enough features to compete. The game has three difficulty levels. However, it also has a progression system that gets continuously harder as you win and then backs off a bit when you lose. Some other features include themes, a clean UI, game stats for you more hardcore players out there, and four different control schemes. The game’s algorithm makes every puzzle solvable with logic so you don’t have to guess at all. We also like the addition of achievements and leaderboards. It doesn’t color outside the lines much, but it’s a great, simple minesweeper game.
Minesweeper Classic: Retro
Price: Free to play
Minesweeper Classic: Retro is one of the strongest shows for Minesweeper fans. The game starts in each level with an open area. There are also four difficulties, a custom mode, more than 40 themes, and above average controls. There is also a guess-free mode where each puzzle can be solved with logic and strategy. Finally, it is beginner friendly with a hint system and a click number feature to show you all the relevant boxes. The game makes money by selling themes and that is totally reasonable. There is also a coin system, but you can win coins very quickly within the game so it’s not a big deal.
Minesweeper: Collector
Price: Free to play
Minesweeper: The complex is where we start to deviate slightly from the base. The game features individual map shapes, actual levels (1,350 of them), various bonuses to collect, and three difficulties. You mainly play levels, complete them, and collect rewards for completing combos. The game also includes a premium DLC addition with over 700 additional puzzles. It’s definitely not a vanilla minesweeper, but that’s okay. There are plenty of vanilla minesweeper options. This is good for both beginners and people looking to find a minesweeper but with a few more items tossed in.
Minesweeper GO
Price: Free / Up to $2.99
Minesweeper GO is another excellent title for a diverse group of players. It has a campaign mode where each level is free of guesswork so you can get a feel for the logical part of the game. Additionally, the game comes with three difficulty levels, multi-touch zoom, a timer for fast running fans, custom board sizes and difficulties, an offline scoreboard, themes, and even a cheat system if you want to be lazy. We also liked the video playback feature. The premium version of the game comes with a guesswork-free mode. It’s not the brightest minesweeper game on the list, but it has something for everyone and that makes it a decent choice overall.
Minesweeper by Mindware
Price: Free / $1.49
Mindware Minesweeper is a simple minesweeper game without a lot of fluff or extras. You can mark mines and there are four difficulty levels. However, apart from that, it is fairly simple. The free version comes with ads while the premium version gets themes, no ads, and a few other things. It’s a great alternative for people who just want a super basic minesweeper game without all the updates. Surprisingly, the premium version receives updates more frequently than the free version, which is something we don’t see every day. The free version is linked to the button below and here is the Google Play Store link for the premium version.
Minesweeper – The Clean One
Price: Free / Up to $2.99
Minesweeper – The Clean One is the best minesweeper game on the list. It has many very simple and clean features and makes the game look more modern. Thankfully, the game is also pretty good overall. Some of the features include autosave, support for things like tags, five difficulty levels, offline support, and more. You can even change the long click interval if you want. The game’s excellent animation for accelerators can also be turned off there. It caters to beginners and intermediaries more than it does to the hardcore crowd, but it looks cool and fun to play.
MiniSweeper
Price: Free
MiniSweeper is the only free minesweeper game that has no ads we can find. It has a simple design that works well with high-end and low-end phones alike. In addition to that, the game has some customization settings, themes, an autosave feature, and some other details. You can make the panel virtually any size you want or choose from three presets. This might take the guesswork out in some cases since there isn’t a guess-free version, but given its comfortable basement price, we’re not really interested. This is a good, basic and free minesweeper game.
